In this post, Les Ensembliers undertakes the challenge of transforming a dated chalet located on Quebec's pristine Lake Memphremagog. Designer Richard Ouellette and Architect Maxime Vandal collaborate to breathe new life into this lakefront cottage.

The chalet's interior was in desperate need of a modern update. Les Ensembliers took inspiration from the 60s era to create a unique and stylish design that pays homage to the cottage's history and surroundings.

By incorporating elements like vintage furniture, bold color schemes, and retro patterns, the team successfully transformed the chalet into a 60s-inspired getaway.

Embracing the Chalet's Surroundings

One of the key design principles followed by Les Ensembliers was embracing the natural beauty of the chalet's surroundings. Large windows were installed to maximize the breathtaking lake views, bringing the outdoors inside.

The team also incorporated natural materials, such as wood and stone, to create a seamless connection between the interior and exterior spaces. This integration of nature into the design adds to the overall charm and serenity of the cottage.

Creating a Cozy and Inviting Atmosphere

A major focus of the cottage makeover was to create a cozy and inviting atmosphere. Les Ensembliers achieved this through careful selection of furniture, fabrics, and lighting.

Comfortable seating areas were designed to encourage relaxation and socializing. Plush sofas and armchairs were strategically placed near the fireplace, creating a warm and inviting gathering spot for family and friends.

Soft fabrics, such as velvet and wool, were used to add texture and warmth to the space. Ambient lighting fixtures, including vintage-inspired lamps and statement chandeliers, were incorporated to create a soothing and cozy ambiance.
