The Inheritance Trilogy by N.K. Jemisin

One of the top books on my list is the Inheritance Trilogy by N.K. Jemisin. After reading and loving the Broken Earth trilogy, I can't wait to dive into more of Jemisin's work. The Inheritance Trilogy is a fantasy series that promises to be dark, harrowing, and beautiful. I want to experience the same level of excitement and emotions that I felt while reading the Broken Earth trilogy.

I already read the first book in the Inheritance Trilogy a long time ago, but I feel like I need to revisit it with fresh eyes and perspectives. Plus, I don't want too much time to pass between reading Jemisin's books because I'm such a fan. So, I'm definitely planning to read the first book, 'The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms,' before the end of the year.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

Another book on my list is 'Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.' I've been rereading the Harry Potter series since the summer, and I just finished 'Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire' in October. Now, it's time to continue with the fifth book. 'Order of the Phoenix' is actually my favorite book in the series, and I'm excited to jump back into the world of Harry Potter.

I have until December 31st to complete it, and I'm confident that I can finish it in time. This book has so many emotions and memorable moments, especially with the introduction of Dolores Umbridge. I hate her character, but I love how J.K. Rowling portrayed her. So, I'm pumped to read this book and experience all the highs and lows with Harry.

Red Seas Under Red Skies by Scott Lynch

Next on my list is 'Red Seas Under Red Skies' by Scott Lynch. I mentioned this book in a previous post, and I'm particularly excited to read it. This is the second book in the Gentleman Bastard series, and I loved the first book, 'The Lies of Locke Lamora.' It was a reread for me, and I enjoyed every second of it.

I can't wait to see where the adventure takes Locke and Jean next. The dynamic between these two characters is fantastic, and I'm sure this book will be full of twists, turns, and epic moments. I'm planning to make this my next commute book after I finish 'Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell.'

Carry On by Rainbow Rowell

Another book I want to read before the end of the year is 'Carry On' by Rainbow Rowell. I read this book about four years ago, and now with the rest of the series coming out, I think it's the perfect time for a reread. 'Carry On' is a satirical take on the chosen one trope, told through the lovable characters Simon and Baz.

I remember enjoying the first book, and I'm excited to revisit their story. I'm sure this book will be full of laughter, tears, and a lot of heart. Plus, I'm interested to see how I'll react to the later books in the series, especially 'Wayward Son.' So, I'm definitely picking up 'Carry On' and hoping to finish it before the end of the year.

Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo

The last book on my list is 'Ninth House' by Leigh Bardugo. This is an adult dark fantasy novel set among the Ivy League elite. The blurb alone sold me on this book, promising a tale of power, privilege, dark magic, and murder. I'm here for all of that!

I've heard great things about 'Ninth House,' and I'm a fan of dark fantasy novels. I can't wait to see how Bardugo weaves together the elements of power, privilege, and dark magic in this story. It's definitely a book I want to read before the end of the year.
